Scones

 
 

 

 
 

2 cups flour
2 tea s. B. P. [baking powder]
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tea s. salt
4 tbsp shortening
2 eggs
1/3 cup cream
1/2 cup raisins

Mix & sift flour, B.P., sugar & salt

rub or cut in shortening

add eggs well beaten and cream

roll out 1/2 inch thick

cut any shape

brush with egg yolks

springle with sugar and cinnamon

Bake in hot oven 12 minutes

Cool oven 250°F
Slow oven 250–350°F
Moderate oven 350–375°F
Hot oven 375–450°F
